Set up your first project

From a new account to your first repository and push.

Before you start

Have an email address you can access, a browser, and Git installed on the computer where you work. Ramuvo is in early access; check the controls and availability shown in your account before relying on a workflow.

git --version

Create your account

  1. Open Get started and complete registration.
  2. Follow any email verification prompt shown for your account.
  3. Choose your public profile details in Settings. Use Security to review your password, passkeys, and active sessions.

Create a repository

  1. Open Repositories and choose the create action.
  2. Choose your personal account or an organization you can create repositories in.
  3. Enter the name, repository slug, description, visibility, and default branch. Private is the initial choice.
  4. Create the repository, then open its Code view and copy the clone URL.

Push your first commit

For terminal Git, create a personal access token and use it as the HTTPS password when Git requests credentials. Use the clone URL from your repository rather than guessing an address. The OWNER and REPOSITORY values below are placeholders.

git clone https://ramuvo.com/git/OWNER/REPOSITORY.git
cd REPOSITORY
# Add your project files, then review them.
git status
git add README.md
git commit -m "Add project readme"
git push -u origin main

Before you continue: The example stages README.md only. Create that file first, and substitute your actual default branch if it is not main. Never commit tokens or environment secrets.

Choose your next step

Invite collaborators, open an issue, or create a pull request before merging your next change. Once the repository is ready, configure Actions or hosting from its own tabs.
